3 MUSIC PROFESSIONALS WHOSE ROLES ARE CONFUSED WHEN IT COMES TO MANAGING THE CAREER OF ARTISTS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
Behind the career of each great artist hides professionals who work to promote them, make their music known, communicate about their projects, organize their concerts, etc.
The artist can thus count on these professionals to support him on what he has less control over or what he does not have time to deal with. We take you to discover these professionals who help artists to develop.
In the music industry, we most regularly find three types of professionals who are sometimes misunderstood or confused for their roles by those outside the four walls of the studio or record label. They are; the music producer, the music publisher, and the manager.
THE MUSIC PRODUCER
Not to be confused with the director! While the director intervenes in the artistic part of the project, the producer intervenes only in the financial part.
The role of the producer is indeed to select promising musical projects and finance them. It finances the creation of the music and its recording but also the visual identity. He brings together a team of performers, editors, arrangers, and authors and supervises the production of the tracks until their mixing and mastering because he wants to keep an eye on the project which has somehow become his too.
